Dadsizing is Downsizing For Dads!

Dad’s got everything. But does he have too much of everything? 

Maybe he’s looking to downsize his castle but it’s surrounded by walls of junk? Perhaps he’s stubbed his toe on the Bowflex being used as a coat hanger, again. 

Father’s Day may be done, but you can still give him the gift of Downsizing or Dadsizing. 

Much like downsizing, Dadsizing is about trading the big, old house and moving into something a little sleeker. It’s not unlike selling off the family’s aging wagon for a slick, head-turning, curve-hugging roadster.

How do you start? A little bit of convincing is the best first step, and money talks. Every garage or spare room is a potential treasure trove with plenty of Craigslist finds. 

Roll up your sleeves, grab some beers and begin hauling out anything that looks valuable. Make a spreadsheet, writing in each item and how much you feel it’s worth. Then take a photo of each item, and save it all together. 

Head onto Craigslist and/or Kijiji and post each item with accompanying photos. Pretty soon, that Bowflex is going to be gone and Dad’s wallet will be seriously bulked up. And all that new space means there’s room for that new motorcycle he’s been eying.
